ACLC-WIM Chicago has been participating in a "Faith-Based" Chicgo Police Program (3rd District) Since 2022. Below are photos and videos regarding the activities.
“ The U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) has long promoted community policing, where police collaborate with communities to solve problems. Recognizing the faith community's role in neighborhoods, COPS launched the Value-Based Initiative (VBI) to bring faith-based organizations to the table as full partners. Previously absent from community policing discussions, faith communities have a long history of serving residents and addressing local challenges. VBI aims to leverage this experience and strengthen the partnerships between law enforcement, faith-based groups, and residents to improve public safety and quality of life.
